🌍 Why do you build tiny homes?

Our founder Esty spent five years traveling the world full time, experiencing summers living the solo female van life dream. She fell in love with the freedom of #vanlife while traveling Australia in 2018. As soon as Esty landed back in the States, she bought a one way ticket across the country to invest in her very first camper van. After visiting 48 states and experiencing endless adventures, she sold her van. There was so much interest in her conversion, she decided to build another van to sell. Then another. Then another. 40+ campers later, here we are! Esty brings her artistic vision, personal experience and knowledge of this lifestyle to our camper designs.

🎨 Can I design the layout and Florida Van Life builds the camper?

Here at Florida Van Life all of our vans are unique and one of a kind. We’re artists. We’re creators. We’re makers.

We’re proud to protect and nurture the creative process from start to finish.

We LOVE a blank slate. We’re excited by the idea of creating wherever our genius leads us.

That’s why we don’t offer custom build options. We design and build the van, you buy and travel in the van!

🌡️ Does the camper get hot/cold?

The simple answer is yes. The outside temperature will impact the temperature inside the van. No matter how we combat the elements with insulation and technology, mother nature always wins! Think of traveling in a van as somewhere in between camping and living in a small apartment. The benefit of the small space is it’ll heat up or cool down very quickly using a fan or space heater. Just keep in mind, at the end of the day, it’s still a van! Honestly, living in a van is never as comfortable as living in a house. But it’s always more fun!!!

😔 Will this break down on the road?

Maybe. We make sure to send you off with no mechanical issues with the camper. Each vehicle is throughly inspected by two of our most trusted mechanic shops. They know our business well and know how important safety is to us. Our vehicles are always 100% road worthy when they leave our shop. But, we won’t sugar coat it, all cars eventually break down. If you put enough miles on any vehicle, you’re going to run into problems. We suggest keeping up with the maintenance to prevent as many problems as possible. Your best bet is to enroll in a roadside assistance program just in case!

👷 Should I build my own van?

We always say, anybody can convert a van into a tiny home if you want it enough. We never pretend this is rocket science. It’s definitely doable if you’re willing to get your hands dirty and spend hours upon hours learning from youtube. You’ll need a space to work, tools to build, cooperative weather, and most of all, motivation to solve a million problems. It takes a TON of time, energy, frustration, and effort. Ask yourself, are you looking to learn how to build a van, or are you looking to travel? That’s your answer!!

💵 How does payment work?

After you’ve secured your full amount and it’s ready in your bank, reach out to us for next steps! We accept cash or secure wire transfer.

If you choose a wire transfer, we hold the title for 24 business hours until the transfer shows up 100% in our bank account.

No checks, no cashier checks, no money orders, no IOUs, and no payment plans.

📅 I really want the camper but can’t get down the Saint Pete right now. Will you hold the van for me?

We operate on a first come first serve basis. Whoever sends the payment first gets the camper. Once payment is received, you have one week to pick up the van. We hold zero responsibility for the camper once sold.
